Privacy, in plain language.
This notice explains how CreditClarity handles information when you visit our site, create an account, use our planning tools, or purchase access. CreditClarity is an education and planning product. It is not a credit reporting agency, financial institution, law firm, or credit repair organization.
Effective date: August 25, 2026
This is a living notice for the product as it operates today. See our Data Practices page for a partner-oriented summary.
Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate the service and respond to you, including:
- Account and profile data, such as your name, email address, account role, and planning goal.
- Authentication information. Sign-in credentials and verification are handled through our authentication infrastructure; we do not design the product around collecting your password in ordinary planning forms.
- Information you enter into the app, such as budgets, spending entries, debt-payoff inputs, subscriptions you choose to track, and home, mortgage, or auto-purchase planning information.
- Communication preferences, including opted-in product or reminder preferences and the record of a preference change.
- Routine technical and usage data, such as device, browser, page, and interaction information generated when you use the site.
- Transaction and order records made available through the platform checkout process to administer access and subscriptions. CreditClarity does not collect card details on its storefront.
What we do not collect today
CreditClarity does not collect bank credentials, provide bank account linking, or automatically ingest transactions. We do not currently collect live credit reports, credit-score data, or make credit-report pulls. If a verified future integration would change that, we will separately describe the data flow and update this notice and any required consent before it is released.
We do not sell personal information.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide authenticated planning tools and maintain your account.
- Administer subscriptions, access, checkout-related support, and member communications.
- Improve product reliability, usability, and educational content.
- Protect the service, investigate abuse, and prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
- Send communications you have requested or opted in to receive.
Service providers and disclosures
We use limited service providers to run CreditClarity. Depending on the interaction, this may include managed hosting, authentication, and database infrastructure; the platform checkout and its payment processor; and the platform email-notification proxy when a message is requested. These providers process information to provide their services to us or complete the requested transaction.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect people and the service, investigate suspected misuse, or comply with a valid legal process. We do not state that CreditClarity uses advertising technology or behavioral advertising on this site.
Cookies and analytics
The site may use cookies or local storage that support sign-in, service operation, and configured analytics. When PostHog analytics is configured, it records site and product usage to help us understand and improve the experience; its client uses browser storage and cookies. We do not use this notice to claim tracking tools that are not installed or configured.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain account and transaction records, resolve support or security issues, and meet applicable operational or legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the type of information and the reason it was collected. When information is no longer needed, we aim to delete it or de-identify it through our ordinary operating processes, subject to backup and legal-record limitations.
Security
We use authenticated access controls and data ownership scoping so members can access the information associated with their account or workspace. We rely on managed providers for encryption where they provide it, use secure transport for service communications, and apply monitoring and change controls appropriate to the product. No system can guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim a certification, end-to-end encryption, routine penetration testing, or a zero-breach guarantee.
Your choices and requests
You can update certain account details and communication preferences in the app. To request access, correction, deletion, or a communication-preference change, use our Privacy Requests form or email team@creditclarity.madethis.app. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify and route a request, then review it based on the account, request type, and applicable circumstances. Please do not send sensitive financial documents through this channel.
Children’s privacy
CreditClarity is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly build the service to collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review the situation.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice as the product or its data practices change. When we do, we will post the updated effective date here. Questions about this notice or our practices can be sent to team@creditclarity.madethis.app.
